FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the difference between a headshot and a portrait or branding session?
A headshot session is shorter and usually requires 2 – 3 photographs. It is more focused and professional, typically framed from the shoulders up. It’s designed for business use such as LinkedIn, company profiles, websites, and marketing material.
How long does a headshot session take?
Most headshot sessions take between 15 and 30 minutes per person, making them ideal for busy professionals and teams.
What should I wear for a headshot?
We recommend clean, well-fitted clothing in neutral or corporate-friendly colours. Avoid busy patterns or large logos unless this forms part of your companies branding. We’re happy to advise based on your industry and where the image will be used.
Do you guide posing and expressions?
Yes. We guide you throughout the session with subtle posing and expression direction to ensure your headshot looks confident, natural, and approachable.
Can headshots be done at either your studio or on location?
Yes. We offer studio headshots for individuals and on-location headshots for corporate teams. There is a minimum requirement for on-location headshots.
How soon will I receive my headshots?
Headshots are usually available within 24 hours for an individual session (1 person), and between 2 – 7 days for a corporate group depending on how many staff require photographs.
Can I use my headshots on LinkedIn, my website, and marketing material?
Yes. Headshots include usage rights for personal branding and business promotion across digital and print platforms. Should you require usage rights beyond this, please chat to us.
May I bring someone with me?
Yes, we encourage our clients to bring a friend or partner with them to the shoot. We understand that the studio is unfamiliar and your feeling at ease is important to us. The make-up artist also usually remains in the studio for the duration of the shoot.
