MAKEUP INCLUDED IN ALL PORTRAIT SESSIONS
Professional makeup creates a polished, camera-ready look that enhances your features without overpowering your natural beauty. That’s why all of our Beauty Portrait Shoots include professional makeup application as part of your session.
Our skilled makeup artist will work with you to create a look that suits your style and complements your portrait goals — whether you prefer soft and natural, bold and glamorous, or something in between.
For men, light, professional make-up helps control shine and smooth skin tones, especially under studio lighting. It is applied naturally and is not visible in the final images.
From flawless skin to defined eyes, professional makeup helps us deliver portraits with a refined, magazine-quality finish.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How long does a portrait session take?
The actual photography (excluding the time for make-up which is usually around an hour) can take between 1 to 1.5 hours. This allows enough time to relax into the shoot and create a variety of natural, flattering portraits.
What should I wear for my portrait session?
Neutral, timeless clothing works best and keeps the focus on you. Avoid busy patterns or logos unless this is for a specific effect. We will discuss wardrobe and backdrop colours with you to ensure a harmonious and aesthetically pleasing outcome.
Can I bring more than one outfit?
Yes. One to two outfit changes work well for most portrait sessions.
I’m nervous and not photogenic — is that a problem?
Not at all. Most people feel this way. We guide you with relaxed posing and direction throughout the session so you never feel awkward or unsure. We will also go through some posing ahead of time so that you can “practise” at home before the shoot.
Is it necessary for a male to wear make_up?
Yes. Light, professional make-up helps control shine and smooth skin tones, especially under studio lighting. It is applied naturally and is not visible in the final images.
Can I do my own make-up?
If you have experience applying professional make-up, specifically for studio lighting, by all means. We do require professional make-up for portrait sessions as it directly affects the end result.
How many photographs will I get?
The session includes 20 edited photographs with basic retouching (skin smoothing, etc). You will choose the 20 photographs from the session for editing and may add extra photographs at an additional cost per photograph.
Where does the shoot take place?
Portrait shoots are only done at our home studio in Blouberg. This allows for a session that is not rushed, and feels comfortable.
May I bring someone with me?
Yes, we encourage our clients to bring a friend or partner with them to the shoot. We understand that the studio is unfamiliar and your feeling at ease is important to us. The make-up artist also usually remains in the studio for the duration of the shoot.
